Is there anyone using LN 10.4 that is scanning a document and attaching it directly to a session in LN?

Looking for method to scan a receiving packing slip at time of receipt and storing in system automatically.

Cannot end activity LN Studio

Hi all,

When I used 'End Activity' after I checked-in the session, I got the message as attached file.

Could you please to advise solution to solve this problem?

Detail as attached file ( ch_lnreport_204 is a temporary activity)

"A new activity ch_lnreport_204 has been opened. This activity includes the components you wanted to end.
A retry of the end activity action can be done for that activity. Error message: Error, Cannot perform CM Action, resource does not exist or is not synchronized with the workspace"

Linking customized report to standard session LN FP7 session

Hello, bonjour !

I would like to link a customized report (td package, customized VRC layer) to standard session LN FP7 session from the same package.

However, I am not able to do so..?

I have tried different approaches changing the VRCs but it does not work .

Would someone have a clue ?

Invoke 'start.set' via API Command

When calling a session with a type 3 form (tipcf1101m000 - Product Features by Generic Item), I need to add a new record for a Generic Item that initially has no records (in table tipcf100), using an API command.

Using 'stpapi.put.field' to put the relevant values, followed by either 'stpapi.find' or 'stpapi.change.view', the process simply finds the next record in the table. Hence, when using 'stpapi.insert', an error of 'Record already exists' is encountered. This is because the API is still focused on the Generic Item that already exists.

Therefore, what I need to do is execute a 'start.set' command via the API and to enter the new Generic Item - or I need to find another method of adding a record for a new Generic Item.

Any ideas as to a solution?

Error while running Generate EDI Message

Hello there

I had created a EDI Message after approving a Purchase Order. The Message is present in the session Messages to be Generated(ecedi7100m000). After that when i Generate EDI Message(ecedi7201m000) i get the error

" Cant read the Object (ecedi7601)"

any clue?

Exchange using global variables

System Details First:
running on tools service pack 12
Linux environment: RedHat Enterprise Linux 7
Porting Set: 6.1c.19

Mystery issues arise with some exchange schemas that seems to have worked but not sure when it broke. I'm familiar with exchange but am not the one who created them. In this schema it is updating the contracts tdssc001 and tdssc065 a global variable was defined in the first condition that is used to determine if the exchange schema should stop.

All Execute conditions on the import relations has the condition EXEC which all it has:
if fatal_err2 = 1 then
return(false)
endif
return(true)

Other conditions that are set in the Add have logic to set fatal_err2 in the first condition fatal_err and fatal_err2 are introduced as extern long and initialized with 0. They are set when reading the file and validating the input which should stop the schema. While in debug I watched it set it but when it came to the EXEC condition it saw fatal_err2 set to 0.

I tried to "compile" the conditions and I get error that they are not defined. I even tried to recreate the schema just to see if there was some strange character that I was not noticing and still same thing fatal_err although should be global it is not getting recognized.

Is this a flaw with linux/porting set or am I missing something completely...after all these exchange schemes were created back in 2000 and have been working with the last change happening 2018 prior to moving to Linux.

No way are we going to be able to update the porting set and service packs code is too heavily customized and not enough developers and functional group to do the changes and testing. Is there a way I can "trick" by pass to have a variable to determine if the schema encounters and error and stops?

Layout Report Output in LN FP7+

Hello,

I have customized a report and its output is fine using WINDOWS format output in preview and print.

However for the same report layout I would need to create also the output in PDF format. It does not wokr very well, there are spaces between text/label blocks (not in WINDOWS..) and alos columns in some aeras are not perfectly line-up.

Is that possible to solve such problem, using different PDF Devices parameters ?

Print detail in after field section

I some reports I use the following:
pdetail = 2
r.2.s.detail()
pdetail = 0

In a new report on another Baan server I want to use this command also but there I get error "Unresolved reference to r.2.s.detail()".

I believe that in the past the current command was a little bit different but I can't remeber what that was.

Can anyone help me on this matter?

Configuring Intermec Barcode scanner - BridgeLogix

We have a couple of brands of barcode scanners connecting to BridgeLogix for our BaaN IV setup. Both our Janam and Intermec scanners are setup for VT100, but whenever you type a character in the Intermec scanner you get an additional foreign character in the front of each character.

For example when you type "test" the Janam scanner will show "test" but the Intermec show "ÕtÕeÕsÕt".

using phantom kits in service LN 10.5

Using the service module I have created kits of parts to go along with various preventative maintenance tasks. The kit items are set up as phantoms so that we can invoice for one kit but have the warehouse pull by component item. The kits contain up to 40 items and we don't want to show all of those lines on the invoice. My problem is that the warehouse outbound process is calling for the main kit item to be picked not the components. Somewhere in the release to warehouse process it is not recognizing that the kit items are phantoms and outbound is happening at the kit level.

I'm wondering if I'm missing some parameter to be set a certain way? Or what it is that I am doing wrong?
